NGRF’s research portfolio focuses on data science and AI in medical research, and through this work spans every stage of scientific discovery, from early ideas to full-scale execution. Our researchers work collaboratively on NGRF projects while also focusing on and growing their particular interests to create breakthrough science. By partnering with and supporting researchers within and outside academia, as well as providing critical open-source research tools, AI, applications, and libraries, NGRF helps scale programs that connect science to real world impact. Our approach drives growth, streamlines scientific development, and brings transformative open-source tools and technologies to the scientific community to ultimately help patients.

Advancing Biomedical Discovery
NGRF houses several research Centers and Labs. While each of these groups has a particular research-driven focus, they all work jointly on NGRF research projects. This collaborative environment brings each of their individual skills to every project, collectively solving diverse aspects of difficult problems. Each center brings deep domain expertise — from medical imaging to open-source data infrastructure — while sharing NGRF's common data science and AI foundation. This shared foundation lets breakthroughs in one center accelerate progress across the others, turning individual expertise into collective impact.
